Another MasterTech Expo is in the books, and once again it exceeded expectations. This event has become the ultimate gathering spot for professionals passionate about mobile electronics, fabrication, and automotive interiors. With hands-on workshops, national-level competitions, cutting-edge vendor exhibits, and daily meals to keep attendees fueled, it was four days of nonstop learning and inspiration.
Whether you’re into high-end Hi-Fi audio systems, next-level fabrication techniques, or interior upholstery craftsmanship, MasterTech Expo delivered across the board.
The variety and depth of the training sessions were incredible. Manufacturers hosted their own product and technical trainings, some lasting up to two hours, diving deep into the latest gear and innovations. And yes—there was plenty of swag to go around.
One of the most impressive things about this year’s expo was the sheer size and energy of the crowd. Classes often drew hundreds of eager learners, signaling a powerful and growing movement around custom vehicle craftsmanship. Plus, the level of expertise on display was off the charts.
The talent pool at MasterTech is unmatched. From business veterans pulling in millions annually to fabrication legends sharing their secrets, this show is a master class in itself. One standout moment for me was attending a session that walked through an entire C10 truck interior build—from panel design and metal fab to laser work, CNC, and upholstery. With industry icons like Phil Cato, Jeremy Katz, Chris Pate, and Tom Miller leading the charge (among a total of 52 instructors), the education was top tier.
No MasterTech Expo would be complete without the adrenaline-pumping CleanWire Challenge and Build-Off Competition. In the CleanWire Challenge, four teams each day go head-to-head to wire up a complete amp rack in just 3-1/2 hours. Meanwhile, the Build-Off brings a Hell’s Kitchen vibe to the main stage as two teams race against the clock to craft a custom C10 door panel—live, in front of the crowd, also in just 3-1/2 hours. These high-energy showdowns ignite the exhibit floor with excitement, showcasing real-time creativity, precision, and teamwork. Capping it all off was a compelling live interview with automotive icon Dave Kindig, a true trailblazer who’s been redefining custom car culture for decades.
If you’re serious about your craft and ready to take your skills to the next level, MasterTech Expo isn’t just a show—it’s a must-attend experience.
