Goodguys Wraps Up Nashville and Awards the 2025 Tanks Inc. Hot Rod of the Year

Goodguys Rod and Custom Association wrapped up their 19th BASF Nashville Nationals over the weekend after three days of hot-rodding enjoyment. The show took place on the infield of the Nashville Superspeedway, creating motorhead memories for everyone who attended.

The big news at this event is the crowning of Goodguys 2025 Tanks Inc. Hot Rod of the Year—and we don’t envy the task of picking just one. Over two dozen hot rods participated in the 100-mile reliability run, followed by dragstrip blasts on pit road with some serious bias-ply burnouts. Ultimately, the title of Hot Rod of the Year went to Dave Kroona’s 1933 Willys coupe, built by South City Rod and Custom.

Goodguys also selected four regional finalists for their Top 12 Awards, which included Harold Chapman’s 1940 Ford pickup as the LMC Truck of the Year Early finalist, Steven Bailey’s 1969 Ford Bronco as the Dakota Digital Truck of the Year Late finalist, Tom Bresnahan’s 1955 Nomad as the Vintage Air Custom Rod of the Year finalist, and Marshall Gay’s 1971 Cuda as the Griot’s Garage Muscle Machine of the Year finalist.

The Nashville Nationals offered plenty more fun and action, from the high-speed autocross track to numerous classic trucks and cars filling the infield, and even a track cruise for participants! The next stop on the Goodguys schedule is in the northeast, May 30-31, at the Dover Motor Speedway, best known as the Monster Mile. MR
