Goodguys Rod & Custom visited the edge of the Rocky Mountains for their 27th Griot’s Garage Colorado Nationals. Colorado has many dedicated hot rodders and talented builders who always show up to make this event exciting, with lots of cool cars, thrilling autocross racing, and a swap meet full of automotive goodies!
The Ranch Events Complex, located in Loveland about an hour north of Denver, is a fantastic facility with views of the plains to the east and the Rockies to the west. It was a cool, sunny weekend highlighted by glowing paint and chrome, with the rumble of horsepower!
Nearby Pinkee’s Rod Shop and Mash Lab Brewing hosted another excellent TGIF party to get everyone excited for Saturday and Sunday. During the event, Goodguys picked three finalists for their regional Top 12 of the Year awards, including Herb Pavey’s 1966 Corvette as the Griot’s Garage Muscle Machine of the Year finalist, Galen Bortz’s 1969 Dodge Super Bee as the Snap-on Muscle Car of the Year finalist, and Ralph Ross’s 1935 International as the LMC Truck of the Year Early finalist.
In The Garage Media followed suit by choosing three of our favorites, including Steve Sheats’ 1959 Corvette for the All Chevy Performance category, Scott and Colette Buhler’s flamed 1932 Ford coupe as the Modern Rodding pick, and Dean and Carol Lewis’ 1955 GMC pickup for the Classic Truck Performance category.
The Goodguys Colorado Nationals provides family fun for everyone with nitro-fueled vintage dragsters revving up their engines, a swap meet featuring a strong selection of classics for sale, nonstop autocross racing, and the Auto World family fun zone with model cars for kids to make and take home.
With a large turnout of cars and trucks and fantastic weather to kick off the fall season, the Colorado Nationals offered a memorable experience for everyone who attended. Next on the Goodguys schedule is the 32nd Summit Racing Lone Star Nationals at Texas Motor Speedway September 26-28; we hope to see you there. MR
