Background on the Car: I’ve been a Chevy Corvette and Zora Arkus-Duntov fan since building my first small-block, Corvette-powered Camaro not long after getting my driver’s license. Zora was instrumental in turning the Corvette into a race car and America’s Sports Car. The 1957 Corvette was the first to be available with optional fuel-injection. The 283/283 engines, four-speed transmission, Positraction rear axles, racing suspension, and brakes represent the Spirit of Zora, which is what I’ve named my Corvette when I started Team Zora USA after purchasing this 1957 Fuelie 2023. My goal is to honor the legacy of Zora Arkus-Duntov and celebrate the Corvette that has excelled on the world state of racing for decades.
In addition to displaying the Spirit of Zora at concours and local shows, it is currently on display with iconic Corvette race cars and concept cars from GM’s Heritage Collection and REV’s Collection at the Saratoga (New York) Auto Museum. My Corvette has received its FIVA (Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens) ID card and is registered to compete in the 2026 1000 Miglia (Mille Miglia Storica) in Italy.
