Hot rod enthusiasts, mark your calendars! From April 4 to 6, 2025, the Del Mar Fairgrounds will transform into a haven for hot rodders of all types as Goodguys presents the 24th Meguiar’s Del Mar Nationals, an event dedicated to showcasing Southern California’s rich hot rod culture, featuring early and late model cars, customs, classic trucks, and much more, including exhibitors and other hot rod displays.
The Del Mar Nationals are expected to attract thousands of hot rod enthusiasts eager to enjoy an impressive display of regional customs, lowriders, street rods, and classic trucks. This year, attendees will encounter several special show areas that embody the essence of So-Cal’s automotive lifestyle. The PPG Lowrider Palace is among these attractions, showcasing breathtaking paintjobs and intricate designs. Car enthusiasts can also explore the Suede & Chrome Hall, where traditional hot rods, lakesters, and highboys pay homage to the old-school hot-rodding tradition that has defined the region for decades.
One of the standout moments of the event will be the selection of an exceptional automobile for the prestigious Meguiar’s West Coast d’Elegance title of 2025. This award, part of Goodguys’ Top 12 of the Year honors presented by BASF, attracts the country’s top builders, each eager to showcase their elegant pre-1966 street rods, classic trucks, customs, or hot rods.
But the show isn’t solely for the die-hard car connoisseur; it promises family-friendly fun for everyone. With a dedicated Family Fun Zone featuring games, crafts, and a model car show that includes a free Autoworld model car, Take-and-Make for kids, there will be something for the whole family to enjoy. Saturday will amp up the excitement with a lowrider hopping contest and a thrilling limbo contest, where participants will see which car can cruise the lowest. Additionally, the Nitro Thunderfest will excite vintage dragster fans, while autocross racers will compete for glory in the CPP Duel in Del Mar Shootout Champion throughout the weekend.
The Goodguys Del Mar Nationals welcomes all specialty classic vehicles manufactured before 2000. As a special treat for car enthusiasts, Sunday will feature Meguiar’s All-American Sunday, inviting newer American-made or powered vehicles to join the festivities.
