Background on the Car:  This truck is an original Midwest two-owner survivor. The truck was bought new as a camping rig and pulled an airstream travel trailer. When not in use it was parked in a climate-controlled building resulting in it never seeing a winter salt-covered road. This helped preserve its body and chassis over its lifetime. With a rust-free body showing no wear and zero rot, this is almost unheard of in the rust belt region!  Upon taking ownership in 2019, after sitting dormant for about a decade, it needed some brief attention in the fuel delivery and brake systems. The original fuel tank was removed, cleaned, and re-coated, along with the factory Quadrajet rebuilt and slightly modified so the hot-air idle compensator was bypassed. Further, the factory brake booster was disassembled and rebuilt. Before hitting the road, a once-over on the entire truck was done. Doing so, the only mechanical items I upgraded on the truck include changing to a 1972-style front disc brake setup and a new three-core aluminum radiator painted black. Everything else: driveline, interior, and exterior is how GM intended the truck to roll off the line in 1969. The truck now shows 53,000 original actual miles and still runs and drives absolutely perfect. We aren’t afraid to drive our Suburban for many miles at a time, however we choose not to show it. The chance at awards and accolades aren’t needed. Instead it serves us many family memories, vacations, and road trips like a classic vehicle should.
