Remove Stubborn Pins on Early Fords
Bob Drake Productions announces its new Door Hinge Pin Puller. This essential tool is designed to make removing door hinge pins on vintage Ford vehicles easier and minimize the risk of damaging the hinges.
Constructed with a durable, forged steel body and a heat-treated steel bolt, the hinge pin puller is built to withstand the rigors of restoration projects. To use, simply position the tool over the hinge, insert the appropriate length extension (available in 1, 1.5, 2, and 2.5 inches) into the bolt head, and turn the bolt to push the pin upward and out.
Bob Drake recommends applying penetrating oil to the hinge at least 24 hours before attempting pin removal to help loosen it. For particularly stubborn pins, applying heat to the hinge area can provide the necessary “encouragement” for removal.
