Background on the Truck: In 2001 while visiting my uncle in Southeast Alabama he said his friend had an old truck in a barn he wanted to sell. We decide to go look. Well, it was beat to death, but I had to have it. $150 and to South Florida it went. The only part salvaged was the cab that needed lots of metalwork. I stashed parts for 18 years and in 2019 I started working on it. I’m now retired and living in Alabama. February 2025 it was done and went to its first show. Old “Nifty 50” got Second Place for Trucks to 1963. The only work I farmed out was the boring and decking of the engine block. I have done a lot of stock vehicle rebuilds but this was most challenging. Lots of fabricating to mount everything on the S-10 chassis, lots of designing and research, but it’s all about the journey. My paint and gaps aren’t perfect, but I’m still proud of it. I did it all alone in my shop Mike’s way.
