Corvette Helps Fund Curing Kids Cancer

1969 Corvette Restomod to be Auctioned off at Mecum Kissimmee

A meticulously built 1969 Corvette restomod, crafted over five years to modern supercar standards, will cross the block at Mecum Kissimmee on January 16, 2026. What sets this car apart is not just its performance pedigree, but its purpose: 100 percent of the sale proceeds will benefit Curing Kids Cancer, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing innovative pediatric cancer research.

The project began as a personal, keep-forever build using a clean, never-damaged 1969 Corvette coupe. From there, it evolved into a no-compromise performance machine powered by a GM LT4 crate engine topped with a Magnuson TVS2650 supercharger and Nick Williams 103mm throttle body. A Bowler Street Performance 4L80 automatic handles shifting duties. On the dyno, the Corvette laid down 589 hp and 670 lb-ft of torque at the rear wheels, with every major system upgraded using top-tier components.

The car’s mission changed after the owner was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Perspective deepened further through his daughter’s work with pediatric cancer patients, exposing the urgent need for better, less-toxic treatments. Inspired by the mission and impact of Curing Kids Cancer, he chose to donate the entire value of the car to help fund lifesaving research.

Curing Kids Cancer cofounder Grainne Owen praised the gesture, calling it a powerful example of turning personal reflection into meaningful action. Registered bidders can participate in person, online, or by phone, knowing their bids directly support children fighting cancer.
