The 2026 Camaro Nationals are officially in the rearview mirror, adding another memorable chapter to the event’s successful history. Now in its 27th year, the show once again returned to the Classic Auto Mall in Morgantown, Pennsylvania, where the long-standing partnership continues to provide an ideal setting for one of the country’s premier Camaro gatherings. The combination of ample indoor and outdoor display areas, along with the convenience of the host hotel being directly connected to the Auto Mall, creates a venue that is both practical and enjoyable for participants, offering seamless access to the indoor exhibits and abundant exterior parking. As with many outdoor events across the Northeast during the summer months, however, unpredictable weather remained a concern. While periods of sunshine gave way to threatening skies throughout the weekend, the greatest challenge came Saturday morning when rain prompted some owners who typically drive their Camaros to the event to stay home. Even so, the final registered vehicle count reached 602, remarkably close to last year’s total of 610.
Organizers believe attendance would have been even stronger under more favorable conditions, while spectator turnout on both days surpassed that of every previous Camaro Nationals, continuing the event’s impressive growth in popularity.
Those who made the trip found a familiar experience, as the Camaro Nationals once again delivered a well-executed weekend packed with activities. Event coordinator Karl Scheffy and his dedicated team worked behind the scenes to ensure everything stayed on schedule. Members of the Lehigh Valley Camaro Club, joined by volunteers from several neighboring clubs, played a key role in keeping every aspect of the event running efficiently. For many of those organizations, the Nationals also serve as their annual reunion, with club members gathering beneath the tents throughout the weekend to catch up, socialize, and celebrate their shared passion for Camaros.
A cornerstone of the Camaro Nationals remains the certification judging program, which recognizes the dedication and attention to detail required to preserve or restore these cars to factory-correct standards. Owners of meticulously restored examples, along with those who have carefully maintained original unrestored survivors, could present their cars for evaluation by an experienced panel of judges. Participants compete across three certification categories: Bow Tie Class, Legends Class, and the Vintage Class, which highlights unrestored vehicles that have survived the test of time. The program continues to attract some of the finest Camaros in the hobby, with each year bringing newly completed restorations and remarkable survivor cars into the spotlight.
Adding even more significance to the 2026 event was a special display honoring the 60th anniversary of the Camaro’s introduction. First unveiled in the fall of 1966 as a 1967 model-year vehicle, this anniversary display offered attendees a unique opportunity to celebrate the car’s origins and reflect on six decades of Camaro history.
Beyond the display field and judging activities, the Camaro Nationals also continues its tradition of giving back through a variety of special events held throughout the weekend. The annual banquet, auction, and 50/50 raffle remain popular highlights, supported by sponsors’ generosity and attendees’ enthusiasm. Funds raised through these efforts are directed toward charitable organizations, with the Silence of Mary Home for Children and Bridgeway House once again selected as the beneficiaries of this year’s contributions.
For those already planning ahead for next year’s Camaro Nationals, the dates have been set. Be sure to save the weekend of July 16-17 with the festivities getting an early start on July 15 with the traditional kickoff cruise.
