In Your Garage: Keith Boi and Gab Labrecque’s 1957 Corvette

Owners Names:  Keith Boi, Gab Labrecque
Vehicle Year/Make/Model: 1957 Fuel-Injected Corvette
Built By: Individual owners over the last 69 years.  Prior owners say it was drag raced in and around Miami, Florida, in NHRA Gas or Sports classes when it had a stout 283 and a beefed-up Powerglide trans with line-loc.

02 boi labrecque 1957 corvette front view garage Engine Details: 1971 CE replacement LT-1 block with 2.02 “camel hump” heads; 1960 Bill Thomas modified and Larry-tuned Rochester fuel injection and FAST Xri ignition; TRW low-compression pistons, hydraulic cam, 1960s Jet Hot coated Hedman long-tube headers with Race Ready Performance electronic cutouts and Flowmaster exhaust; American Autowire throughout
Transmission: Late-1957 four-speed T10-1 said to have been used for corporate test and evaluation; Hurst short-throw shifter and Power Brute gears/main shaft upgrades; 1960 NHRA-approved Ansen scatter shield
Chassis and Suspension: Powdercoated, restored to stock frame, drum brakes, and manual steering; 1957 Olds 9.3 rear with 4:10 gears; Fabcraft bearings on Dutchman axles; 3-inch Eelco lift kit to raise the nose; Monroe OE Spectrum shocks.
Wheels & Tires: 15-inch Crager S/S wheels and Mickey Thompson S/S 295/65 drag radials on the back and M/T 26 by 6 ET Street front tires
Interior Details: Al Knoch tuck ’n’ roll interior, column mounted AC Tachometer, and all the gauges have been restored
Body and Paint details: Currently wearing 1960s green and gold metalflake; painter is unknown; GM records in the Kettering University archive indicate that Greeny started out life as a black, three-speed with tan interior and tan convertible top on November 5, 1956

Any Awards: Unknown in the car’s past and none since we have owned “Greeny,” but all the children who encounter Greeny say its “neat” and want to sit in it … reward enough!

11 boi labrecque 1957 corvette windshield Background on the Car:  We are just at the beginning of our stewardship and hope to fully document Greeny from the day she was born on November 5, 1956 until today, all while enjoying this little slice of Corvette history. What we know so far is that starting in the ‘80s she spent decades in storage in Miami, was restored to her present condition in Washington state, spent time in Maryland, and presently resides in Virginia.
