Mecum Auctions and West Coast Customs have joined forces to raise funds for automotive training and education. Proceeds from the auction of select cars from Ryan Friedlinghaus’ personal collection will benefit students at the West Coast Customs Academy, which equips individuals with the skills necessary for success in the custom automotive industry.
A highlight of the auction will be the 2018 Star Trek–inspired “Slingshot,” featuring a unique transformation into the USS Discovery. This vehicle includes a 3-D hood with side wings and striking 20-inch Lexani airbrushed wheels.
The auction will occur at Dana Mecum’s 38th Original Spring Classic in May held at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. All proceeds will be directed to the West Coast Customs Academy, which enhances educational opportunities for students at its state-of-the-art facility in Los Angeles.

Other highlights include a 2022 Toyota Camry Street Legal Race Car with a unique aero package, a General Lee–inspired 2006 Dodge Charger, a custom 2012 Volkswagen Passat with eye-catching red lighting, and the Star Trek–themed Slingshot.
