The Triple Crown of Rodding (TCR) continues its march to be one of the exclusive events within the hot rod world. Come September 8-9, 2023 (weekend after Labor Day), TCR is coming to Nashville Superspeedway, brought to you by Bobby Alloway and Gary Case.

TCR will showcase the best in pre-’49 and post-’48 hot rods, muscle cars, and street cruisers/customs through 1972. For the first time, American-made trucks through 1998 will be represented and participate in their own three TCR categories. There will be six Triple Crown winners: Best Street Rod, Best Street Machine, Best Street Cruiser and (new this year) Best Truck (up to 1972), Best Truck (’73-87), and Best Truck (’88-98).

Also, a brand-new ’23 Chevrolet pickup will be given away to a single lucky registered participant—not just any new Chevy pickup, but one that has passed though the hallowed halls at Alloway’s Hot Rod Shop and received a number of custom touches.

There will also be a 50/50 drawing, with half of the proceeds going to one lucky winning ticket holder while the other half will benefit charities.

There will also be 40-plus state-of-the-art, beautifully machined billet aluminum trophies. These amazing awards will show off brilliant polishing and chrome plating by Advanced Plating.

As a bonus—and we do mean bonus—each recipient of a TCR trophy will also receive a Gibson guitar courtesy of Advanced Plating—gotta give away some guitars as we’re in Music City, USA.

The top three cars will be featured on a future cover of Modern Rodding magazine and the top three trucks will be featured on a future cover of Classic Truck Performance magazine. There will also be accompanying inside features on all six.

The six TCR winners will be invited to compete for the Barrett-Jackson Cup with the $20,000 grand prize going to the winner. The dates of the Barrett-Jackson 2024 show will be January 21-29 in Scottsdale, Arizona. Remember, there are only 50 invitations extended for this competition and TCR can represent up to six of them.

There is more. There will be a meet and greet with industry celebrities. (Announcement with more details coming soon).

There will also be the always-popular Cruise the Track with your registered vehicle and a large exhibitor midway. For those wanting to participate in the swap meet area or Car 4-Sale Corral those will also be available.

Also, for all to enjoy, will be the nostalgia nitro dragsters demo and music along with more fun and music concerts for the entire family.

You can get more information or register for the event by visiting triplecrownofrodding.com.

Ringbrothers Pull Off a Successful “Double Dip”

At the recent SEMA Show held in Las Vegas, the Ringbrothers competed in two of the four categories in the SEMA Battle of the Builders competition. And wouldn’t you know it, the brothers Ring, Mike and Jim, pulled it off. They won the Hot Rod/Hot Rod Trucks and the 4-Wheel Drive & Off-Road categories.

In the Hot Rod/Hot Rod Trucks category it was their ’48 Chevrolet pickup Loadmaster, displayed at the Mothers booth, that took home the honors. To pull off the double win, the Ringbrothers next took home the 4-Wheel Drive & Off-Road win with their ’72 Chevrolet K5 Blazer featured in the HRIA booth.

ENYO

The most extreme Ringbrothers build yet merges vintage ’48 Chevy farm truck with modern race car and boasts a high-performance 1,000hp tall-deck marine racing engine and hundreds of custom touches attained through over 10,000 build hours of craftsmanship and finish work.

The racing-inspired drivetrain is equipped with a 510ci tall-deck engine built by Todd Goodwin producing 1,000 hp with Kinsler eight-stack injection, a Holley fuel management system, and a Bowler Performance Corvette torque-tube 4L80 automatic transaxle. To ensure the massive power is transferred to the ground for maximum grip and performance, “ENYO” features a cantilever-independent suspension at all four corners with Öhlins shocks. The open-wheeled truck sits on custom Porsche 911 pin-drive wheels by HRE Wheels and both track and street wheels are included with the installed Nuke Performance air jack system facilitating quick swaps. Big Brembo GTS M6 brakes with six-piston calipers provide stopping power. Atop the one-off chassis designed by Scott Ahlman, Ahlman Engineering, in conjunction with Roadster Shop is the original ’48 steel cab extensively modified by Ringbrothers. Through careful craftsmanship, it is narrowed and chopped by 4 inches, lengthened, and wedge cut. The remaining body pieces are constructed in 3K-weave carbon fiber, including a single-piece carbon-fiber bellypan spanning from front to back. ENYO’s modernization doesn’t stop at its engine. Ringbrothers implemented power windows, a custom stainless steel gas tank by Rick’s Tanks, a Vintage Air Gen II compact air conditioning system, and a custom interior collaboration with Upholstery Unlimited and Gemini Technology Systems.

BULLY

Ringbrothers next stepped up with a custom-built ’72 Chevrolet K5 Blazer known as “BULLY.” The four-wheel-drive Blazer makes 1,200 hp thanks to its Wegner Motorsports–built 6.8L LS3 V-8 topped with a 2.9L Whipple supercharger.

The potent powertrain is based on a Bowler Tru-Street GM 4L80E automatic transmission. Next comes the fully custom chassis built by Roadster Shop. From here a Currie Dana 44 front and Dana 60 rear axles tie to the chassis via a triangulated four-link suspension that employs two FOX coilovers per wheel. Stopping power is provided by Baer six-piston brakes on all four corners. A Holley Dominator EFI system handles fuel management duties while Motul lubricants keep the engine at peak performance. Flowmaster headers and mufflers customized by Ringbrothers deliver the soundtrack.

Ringbrothers invested over 8,500 hours in bringing this vision to life and the Blazer features a multitude of one-off 3-D–printed and machined parts. Covering the body is a custom BASF Glasurit Waterborne mix called Bashful Blue. Its exterior features ample carbon fiber via the custom fender flares and hood with machined billet supercharger covers. The reworked body and flares make room for massive 325/65R18 Cooper Discoverer STT PRO tires wrapped around 18×12 HRE wheels.

Inside the Blazer features fully custom upholstery by Steve Pearson at Upholstery Unlimited. The in-house fabricated seats use an aesthetic based on the theme of “floating” and combine the Blazer’s rugged nature with supreme craftsmanship. Three individual pods separate the dashboard and house the Dakota Digital instrumentation and custom Ringbrothers carbon-fiber steering wheel.
