Triple Crown of Rodding Offers Lots More!

The Triple Crown of Rodding (TCR) was voted online by enthusiasts in USA Today as one of the top three events in the country. This year’s event is scheduled for September 6-7, 2024, at the Nashville Superspeedway in Lebanon, Tennessee.

More is coming to the TCR, which already includes the new $70,000 Chevy Silverado pickup customized by Alloway’s Hot Rod Shop with its beautiful black paint. It also features one-off Billet Specialties 22-inch Bonneville wheels wrapped in Diamondback speed-rated Redline tires and a one-off Alumicraft billet grille. Aside from a chance to win this truck, all registered participants have a chance to win a brand-new BluePrint LS3 engine valued at over $10,000.

The Celebrity Meet and Greet will be held on Friday and Saturday at 3:00 p.m. in the pit garage area. Bring or purchase your memorabilia to have the industry’s top builders autograph it.

On hand will be: Foose Design (Chip Foose), Rad Rides by Troy (Troy Trepanier), Roadster Shop (Phil and Jeremy Gerber), Ringbrothers (Mike and Jim Ring), Goolsby Customs (Jonathan Goolsby), Kindig It Design (Dave Kindig), Johnson’s Hot Rod Shop (Alan Johnson), Greening Auto Company (Jesse Greening), Big Oak Garage (Jim and Will Posey), Detroit Speed (Kyle Tucker), Pete & Jakes (Jerry and Jason Slover), F40 Motorsports/Chasing Classic Cars (Wayne Carini), Brizio Street Rods (Roy Brizio), and Posies Rods & Customs (Ken Fenical).

Also present will be 50 of the country’s leading pinstripers working their artistic magic. Two auctions will be held daily, with proceeds benefiting Speedway Children’s Charities, which help children in need across America.

To this will be the always-popular 50/50 drawing with the Gary Sinise Foundation, which honors and supports our defenders, veterans, first responders, their families, and those in need. You can win half the proceeds while the other half will benefit this worthwhile foundation.

For those who want a thrill a minute, how about the “free” Finch Performance Share The Ride, Friday and Saturday, in 1 of 10 of Finch’s ultra-performing road course race trucks? Ride shotgun for the “ultimate adrenaline rush” as one of his pro drivers takes you through the course for the ride of your life.

In The Garage Media, Inc. Visits Golden Star Classic Auto Parts … In Taiwan

Modern Rodding, Classic Truck Performance, and All Chevy Performance: The triplets that make up In The Garage Media, Inc., had the opportunity to visit the manufacturing sites where Golden Star Classic Auto Parts has its components made in Taiwan.

Such an opportunity to visit Taiwan and see firsthand where all those truck bodies, Tri-Five Chevys, 1940 Fords, Mustangs, and so much more “vintage tin” that is freshly minted come from couldn’t be passed on. We watched (took lots of photos and video) how the latest 1957 Chevy convertible and Mustang Fastback were assembled. All Golden Star’s sheet metal is finished in weldable primer for shipment to the U.S.

Even though Asian-sourced metal is metrically gauged, we are told that the thickness of the sheet metal for the Golden Star’s parts and bodies is the same thickness as OE. In some instances, the metal Golden Star has used is even more robust.

Take it from us, after seeing, touching, and watching firsthand the sheet metal coming from the top-tier manufacturers, it is worthwhile and something any hot rodder would be proud to work with.

Harold’s Hot Rod Shop Moves To New Digs

The roots of Harold’s Hot Rod Shop trace back to 1979 when Harold Clay opened Clay’s Collision Center in Enid, Oklahoma. In addition to collision work on contemporary vehicles, Clay took on a special interest in cars, enabling him to enjoy building the fun stuff.

In 2014, Clay’s Collision Center celebrated its 35th year in business as the town’s biggest and busiest body shop. Clay added 5,000 square feet to the collision center’s 20,000-square-foot footprint, opening the doors to Harold’s Hot Rod Shop. The surprise came when owners and restorers of rare exotic and classic cars started flocking to Harold’s Hot Rod Shop for fit and finish.

Complete builds or cars with the fit and finish by Harold’s Hot Rod Shop have garnered First Place wins at GNRS, Pebble Beach, Hilton Head, Amelia Island, Goodguys Pro’s Pick, and the San Marino Motoring Classic, to name a few.

Harold’s Hot Rod Shop has been featured on the pages of Modern Rodding, Classic Truck Performance, All Chevy Performance, Street Rodder, Classic Trucks, and Chevelle. In 2024, Clay’s Collision Center absorbed the 5,000 square feet, prompting Harold to construct a new 7,500-square-foot shop in Enid with an open house celebration soon to be announced.
