Justin Scott Padfield and the crew at Scott’s Hotrods ’N Customs moved from California to Knoxville, Tennessee, a few years ago, and has been cranking out complete car and truck frames, suspension components, and full builds. It was announced last year that Scott’s Hotrods was expanding into a new building next door; we got to see the inside of the new shop at the Open House and Kickoff Party on the Thursday leading up to the NSRA Street Rod Nationals South in Knoxville.
The new 12,000-square-foot shop features a huge area for fabrication, multiple lifts, and every tool you can imagine. There is also a display area for finished projects that is separated from the dust and dirt in the shop. Several of Scott’s Hotrods’ finished cars and trucks were on display and, of course, we loved getting a sneak peek at some of the projects that are currently underway. The original 20,000-square-foot shop is now dedicated to chassis and parts manufacturing, allowing for additional output to keep up with demand.
The Thursday night event filled every available inch of the Scott’s Hotrods property with hot rods, customs, and classic trucks. From weathered farm trucks to slick show trucks there was a great variety of Fords, Chevrolets, and even a couple of Dodges thrown in the mix. People lined up for the free barbecue dinner and listened to great music all evening as the sun went down.
